How It Works
The virtual office created by FileHold uses an intuitive vocabulary: the server is called a library, and file levels are cabinets, drawers, folder groups, and folders. The library is administered by a company librarian. Every document is tagged with certain standard information, called metatags, which uniquely identifies it. Any authorized user in the company can create, remove, use, and modify documents within the library. Since documents are cross-filed all the documents associated with a particular project can be quickly located. A complete history of each document is kept in the archive.
- Easily Customizable to Match Requirements
The system is completely customizable by the librarian. For example, there is no assumption that a standard set of metatags is appropriate for every business on the planet.
- Easy Integration
Users can access all of this information by one of three methods. FileHold is Microsoft Office based, so Office is an obvious method of access. Documents can also be retrieved with a web browser, or with a provided interface called FileHold Desktop.
